ISAAC Chrome extension: Add Literature with Ease
ISAAC Chrome extension is a browser add-on designed to simplify the process of adding literature to the NWO ISAAC database. With this extension, users can easily add resource output by utilizing DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) and PubMed identifiers.
The extension features a user-friendly pop-up dialog that allows users to look up metadata using DOIs, PubMed identifiers, and even ISBNs. Once the type of "product" is selected, the extension supports adding authors iteratively, making it convenient to include additional information such as gender and DAI (Digital Author Identifier).
ISAAC Chrome extension utilizes citation-js, a powerful citation formatting library, to enhance its functionality. The source code for the extension is openly available on GitHub under the MIT license, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
This extension gathers information from reputable sources such as Crossref, DataCite, mEDRA, Google Books, OpenLibrary, PubMed, and Unpaywall. It provides users with access to a wide range of literature resources while also indicating the open access status of the content.
It is important to note that this extension is not endorsed by NWO, and NWO has not been involved in its development. However, the developer welcomes feedback as the extension is still in its beta phase. Users are advised to use the extension at their own risk.
